  • Milk                                     1/2cup(lukewarm)
  • Egg                                       1 large

Topping
Powdered sugar/icing sugar
Chocolate sauce

In a large bowl mix together maida and yeast. Add butter to this and rub them with your fingers until you get the flour mixture as coarse crumbs.

Then stir in sugar and salt.
Make a well in the centre of the mixture and add luke warm milk and lightly beaten egg and knead until you get a smooth dough. You may add in more flour if sticky. Knead them well.
Place this dough to  a slightly greased bowl and cling them with a plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place until doubled. This may take around 2-3hrs. Once doubled slightly punch them down with your palms and then transfer them to a floured kitchen top and knead again and roll them to a big sheet with about 1/2inch thickness.
Cut the dough using a cookie cutter into 3inch circles. You may need a smaller cutter or a bottle top to cut the inner hole, Place the donuts on a lightly floured sheet and with with reamaining scrap make more donuts.

Keep the cut donuts aside for another 30mins to rise.
Heat oil in a frying pan and fry each cut donuts. You have to be very careful at this stage as the frying takes only few seconds maybe 30secor else it may get burnt. Frying is the most important part, as if the temperature of oil is not correct the donuts may swallow oil. While dropping each donut make sure the temperature is correct.

Fry each side and transfer to a plate.

Dip these in chocolate sauce /icing sugar and place on a wire rack to dry. You may serve this immediately to your kids.
