  • Karimeen/Pearl spot fish                                      2nos
  • Red chilli powder                                                 1tbspn
  • Turmeric powder                                                 1/2teaspn
  • Green chillies                                                        2nos
  • Chopped Ginger                                                  1teaspn
  • Chopped garlic                                                     1tbspn
  • Curry leaves                                                         1tbspn
  • Baby onions                                                          1cup
  • Salt                                                                       for taste
  • Lime juice                                                             2tbspn
  • Banana leaf                                                            2nos
  • Banana leaf thread/vazhanaru                                  2nos
  • Coconut oil                                                             2tbspn
Preparation


  1. Clean up the fish nicely.
  2. Grind up the onions,red chilli powder,turmeric powder,curry leaves,salt,ginger, garlic etc to a paste form.
  3. Slightly smoke up the banana leaf so that it becomes flexible.
  4. Now on the leaf smear some oil and spread up the masala on the leaf and place the fish above it.Now spread the masala again above it and sprinkle some lime juice on it.Fold up the banana leaf from all sides and tie it up with the thread.
  5. Place it on a tawa/pan smeared with some oil and close it with a lid and cook for about 15mins turning it up on both sides.A colour change will be visible on the banana leaf indicating that its done.Now serve it hot with rice/bread.
