OATS UPMA



 INGREDIENTS


  • Oats                                                1cup
  • Finely chopped onions                     1big
  • Green chillies                                   2nos
  • Oil                                                   2tbspn
  • Mustard seeds                                 1tspn
  • Urad dal                                          1/2tspn
  • Curry leaves                                     1tbspn
  • Carrots                                             2tbspn
  • Turmeric powder                              1/4tspn
  • Salt                                                   a pinch
  • Sugar                                               1/2tspn
  • Lemon juice                                     1tspn
  • Coriander leaves                               for decoration
  • Water                                              1/2cup
Method

Heat oil in a pan add in the mustard seeds, once it stops spluttering add in the urad dal and saute well,now add in curry leaves and chillies and saute again.Then add in the onions and saute for about 3-4mins and add in all the vegetables and turmeric powder and saute well.Add in salt and sugar to this and finally add in the oats and fry them.Now add in about 1/2cup of water to the fried oats and mix well until the oats turns soft. Make sure you dont add in more water as it may become soggy.






Finally sprinkle lemon juice and garnish them with coriander leaves and the upma is ready to be served.
