CHEMEEN PUTTU



  • Prawns                                                           1/2kg(medium sized)
  • Onions                                                             2nos(finely chopped)
  • Ginger,garlic                                                  1tbspn
  • Curry leaves                                                    1/2cup
  • Green chillies                                                   3nos
  • Turmeric powder                                             1/2teaspn
  • Chilli powder                                                   1tbspn
  • Coriander powder                                           1teaspn
  • Garam masala                                                  1teaspn
  • Rice flour                                                          2-3cups
  • Salt                                                                  for taste

Masala

Heat oil in a pan. Add in the onions ,ginger,garlic and green chillies and saute up well. Now add in the masalas and the prawns and fry them untill it gets cooked up.Finally add in the curry leaves .Get this masala to a dry form.

Puttu
Take the rice flour and add in some salt and water and mix well,it should not be in a dough form,it should be in a form that when you close it in your fists it should hold together.

Now take the vessel for making the puttu and layer it with prawn mixture and above it the rice flour and repeat it again untill the vessel is being filled up. Now steam this up for about 10mins and push it out to  a plate without breaking it. We can see the puttu in a layered form.
