SUGEEN

  • Green gram(cherupayar)                  1cup
  • Jaggery  syrup                                  1/2cup
  • Grated coconut                                11/2tbspn
  • Cardamon powder                          1/2teaspn
  • Maida                                              5tbspn
  • Besan powder                                  2tbspn
  • Salt                                                  1/2teaspn
  • Water                                              for mixing
  • Oil                                                  for frying


Soak green gram in water for about 4-5hrs.
Pressure cook this for 2whistles.
Keep a pan on fire and pour in the strained jaggery syrup,to this add in the cooked green gram,grated coconut and cardamon powder and mix well until its dry.



When its cooled make small balls.

In another small bowl mix maida,besan,salt and water to a medium thick consistency.
Now take each green gram balls and dip them in the batter and coat them completely with the batter and drop in hot oil and deep fry each of  them.Serve them when its cooled.
