FISH BUTTER MASALA
- Fish 1/2kg(i used king fish)
- Butter 50gms
- Onions 1no(finely chopped)
- Ginger and garlic 1teaspn
- Capsicum 1/2cup
- Green chillies 1no
- Tomato puree 1cup
- Tomato sauce 2tbspn
- Dried methi leaves 1teaspn
- Salt 1teaspn
- Sugar 1/4 teaspoon
- Pepper powder 1/2teaspn
- Turmeric powder 1/2teaspn
- Chili powder 1teaspn
- Kashmiri chilly powder 11/2teaspn
- Fresh cream 11/4cup
Marinate the fish with little chilly powder,turmeric powder and salt.Keep them aside for a few minutes and shallow fry them.
Now take a non stick pan/wok and pour some oil and butter to it and fry the onions ;when its translucent add in chopped green chillies,capsicum,ginger and garlic and saute again.Then add the tomato puree and stir again.To this add the masalas and saute well until the raw smell leaves off.Then add fresh cream and mix.When it gets boiled add the fried fish pieces and mix.To this add in salt,tomato sauce and sugar accordingly.Keep this on a low flame for another 5minutes and switch off the flame and serve them hot with breads/rotis/pulaos
Note:
1. You may grind the onion,ginger,garlic and green chillies to a smooth paste after sauting in oil. This gives a different texture.
