Kadalaparippu Ada


  • Bengal gram
  • (kadalaparippu)                1/2 cup
  • Coconut .                            11/2cup
  • Sugar .                                3/4cup
  • Cardamom.                       1no
  • Shallots.                             1no
  • Salt
  • Ghee .                                 1teaspoon

To a pan add in shredded Coconut and sugar and mix untill sugar gets melted.

To this add in cooked Bengal gram and stir until water gets evaporated and it becomes dry. Add some salt,shallots and ghee and stir again and switch off the flame.Let this cool


For dough

  • Rice flour.                  2cups
  • Hot water .                 For kneading
  • Salt


In a large bowl mix rice flour,salt and hotwater. Mix this with a spoon and keep aside to be warm. Then add some oil and knead well to a dough.
Flatten them over your palms ,place a tbspn of coconut mixture over it and press the sides.

Place this in a steamer in a vessel with a banana leaf beneath and cook for about 10mins.switch off flame.


Once cooled remove from steamer and serve.
