Caramel tarts

  • Maida                           1cup
  • Salt                               a pinch
  • Sugar                            2tbsp
  • Butter                           1/2cup

For caramel
  • Sugar                             5tbsp
  • Butter                             1teaspoon
  • Whipping cream.          3tbsp
  • Cashews and kismis.   1teaspoonz

To a bowl sieve together maida,salt and powdered sugar. To this add in cold butter and rub it with your hands until it forms a sand texture.z


To this add in cold water and mix well to form a dough. 

Refrigerate this for about 15mins and make medium sized balls and flatten them between your palms. Now place these in tart tins and press evenly.


Prick these with a fork and place them in a preheated oven for about 15mins or until it turns lightly brown in colour.


Now it's time for making the caramel.
Keep a pan on flame to this add in sugar and let this melt and turn lightly brown. 


At this point switch off the flame and add in butter,nuts and whipped cream and mix well. Then keep them back to fire and stir ,do not let them boil.
Take the baked tarts and pour in the caramel sauce over each tart and serve.
