GOAN FISH CURRY


Fish(seer fish/king fish)                                 500gms
Cinnamon                                                    2-3pcs
Cardomon                                                   10-12nos
Corriander seeds                                         11/2tbspn
Cloves                                                         4-5nos
Red chillies                                                  3-4nos
Curry leaves                                                1tbspn
Saumph                                                       1tbspn
Grated coconut                                            3tbspn
Salt                                                              as required
Tamarind extract                                          1cup
Turmeric powder                                          1/2teaspn
Sugar                                                           a pinch
Onions                                                        1tbpn
Ginger garlic paste                                       1tbspn

Mustard seeds                                              1teaspn

Into a  pan add in the cinnanom,cardomon,corriander seeds,red chillies,saumph etc and roast well.Add in the coconut and roast again.Then add in the onions and roast slightly.Now transfer this to a mixer with some tamarind extract and turmeric powder and grind up to a fine paste.
Heat oil in a pan add in the mustard seeds,when it starts spluttering add in 1or 2 red chillies,cloves,ginger garlic paste,curry leaves etc and saute well. Add in the coconut paste and salt to this and saute again.Finally add in the fish pieces and let it cook.When the fish gets cooked add in some sugar and tamarind paste and switch off the flame and serve with rice/rotis.
