INGREDIENTS


Raw rice                                1cup
Urad dal                                 1/2cup
Onions                                   1/4cup(finely chopped)
Mustard seeds                        1/2teaspn
Cumin seeds                            1/2teaspn
Green chillies                           2-3nos
Curry leaves                            1teaspn
Asafoetida                               a pinch
Salt                                          a pinch
Oil                                           for cooking

Soak the rice and urad dal in water and grind them to a fine paste as in for the dosa batter and let it ferment overnight.
When its cooking time add in some oil in a pan and splutter some mustard seeds and cumin seeds,then add in the onions,green chillies,curry leaves, asafoetida and saute well and add them into the batter and mix well.

Heat the appam mould with some oil and pour in a spoonfull of the batter into each of the moulds. Cook untill its done on both sides and this can be served with coconut chutney.
