CARROT PAYASAM


This payasam was being made from my home town .When i first heard of the recipe i was like ehhhh... carrot payasammm... how will it be? doesnt that carrot taste upgrade and make you feel uncomfortable.
But finally when i had it, i was like wowwww it was so so sooooo delicious that i coudlnt leave a single drop in my bowl.
It is also very good for kids who dislikes having carrots.In this hidden form they may have it more and more and will be definetly enjoying each drop of it. This is also a very nutritious and a very rich recipe.

Carrot                          1kg
Jaggery                        3/4kg
Coconut milk(from 2 coconuts)
                       1st milk
                       2nd milk
Cashew &kismis            1cup
Ghee                                 1/2 cup
Thenga kothu               1teaspn(fried in ghee)


  • In a vessel add in the jaggery and little water and make a thick sharkara paniyam.




  • Chop up the carrots and cook them in another vessel.Now strain the remianing water and grind to a fine paste.

  • In a thick bottomed vessel add in the carrot paste,ghee and jaggery paste and mix well in a low flame.When its done add in the 2nd milk and let it boil, finally add in 1st milk, fried nuts and thenga kothu and  switch off the fire.
