Chakka unniappam


  • Chakka (jackfruit)  varattiyathu.                 11/4cup
  • Dosa rice                                                     2cups
  • Cardamon.                                                  2nos
  • Jaggery.                                                      For grinding
  • Maida.                                                       1tbspn


Soak rice overnight and grind them with some jaggery syrup. You have to adjust the sweetness accordingly.
Now transfer this to a large vessel.To this add in the chakka varattiyathu and stir until well combined.

To this add in maida and cardamon powder and stir and keep aside for 3_4 hours to ferment.

Later pour these in appakuzhis with hot oil and let it fry until cooked from inside on a low flame. It takes much more time to get cooked than the normal appams.
